Welcome to the Durham Family Website
Hello,
We are so glad that you have been able to visit our site. We have setup this website primarily so that distant [as in miles] family and friends can know what's going on with us and see pictures of Lily Anna--our new daughter.

Lily gets more teeth
On July 8, 2004, (Davy's birthday) Lily's 3rd tooth broke through. I had been feeling a little bump on her top gums. The front top right tooth finally broke the skin. The top left is not far behind.

Lily starts to climb
On June 26, 2004 Lily climbed to 2 steps from the family room to the breakfast area. These are the carpeted steps. She had before just made it to the first step and would sit down. But now she can get to the top. Going back down "gracefully" will come soon and take some work. Right now it is more of a tumble backwards with arms and legs sticking straight out. Yet she doesn't seem to shaken up about it.

Lily leaves her room
On June 25,2004 Lily crawled out of her room and down the hall with me watching her of course. Before this she would not leave a room unless being carried. This is exciting and at the same time "scary". This is also one of the first times that she has crawled for the purpose of looking around and being on her own. She is getting to a point where she has to be watched all the time. We definitely have to get a gate for the stairs now.

Lily pulls up
On June 12, 2004, Lily pulled herself up while holding onto the side of her crib, without any assistance. I had put her down for a nap and 45 minutes later she was still playing in her crib. I decided she wasn't that tired and went to get her. When I went up to the crib she grabbed the side and we played peek-a-boo. She then went ahead and pulled herself up.

Lily got a grip
On June 5, 2004, Davy stood Lily up to hold on to her activity saucer. He let go and she stayed standing while playing with the toys by herself. She even bounced by bending her knees a little.

Lily is looking up
On May 26, 2004 we noticed that Lily is trying to pull up on things. She hasn't quite gotten the coordination of grabbing on and pushing up with her legs by she has got the idea. Davy went ahead and moved her mattress down to a lower level so she would not fall out if she surprised us by standing up in the middle of the night.

Lily sits up
On May 25, 2004 Lily sits up by herself. For a while she has been trying to push herself back up to a sitting position but wasn't quite strong enough. She got the hang of it and she can go from on her belly to sitting up with no help.

Lily is looking to move ahead
It is the beginning of May and Lily is looking to move ahead. Now that she has gotten the rolling down pat and she can turn in a circle she is beginning to try to scoot forward. When she sees something she wants but it is out of reach, she stretches out and reaches for it. She will start to pull herself with her arms (like army crawling) and will sort of push herself with her knees. It won't be long before she will be crawling.
